Subotica Water Challenge brings eight teams to Dudova suma pool

The first Subotica Water Challenge was held on July 31 at the Dudova suma pool. Eight teams took part in six sports and entertainment games. Hlorni bogovi won the overall competition with forty-five points.

Top fighter finished second with thirty-eight points. Vaterpolisti took third place one point further back. Spectators followed the games from the stands and supported every team.

The Subotica Sports Association organised the evening. All eight available team places were filled before the start. Strong interest has already led to plans for a longer second edition.

Eight teams filled the first competition

Hlorni bogovi, Top fighter and Vaterpolisti occupied the first three places. Skyrunners, JK Palic and Sombor followed them in the ranking. Spartan Su and Brodolom completed the field of eight teams.

The entry list reached the announced limit before the event. Organisers did not need to reduce the programme or leave an empty position. Every game therefore included the full field.

The teams used distinctive names and matching shirts beside the pool. That made the running order easy to follow from the stands. It also gave the event a clear local identity.

Participants included swimmers and people from other sporting backgrounds. The programme did not require one narrow specialist profile. Teamwork and accurate task completion mattered across the different games.

Dudova suma provided a familiar public sports venue in Subotica. The stands remained open during the evening programme. Supporters reacted to both the competitive and comic moments.

The organisers accepted eight teams, which was the announced limit for the first edition. Every place was taken before the competition began. The full entry allowed all six games to run with the same field. Teams kept their names and colours visible throughout the evening.

Six games produced one overall ranking

The programme opened several different tasks in the water. The list included the fast inner tube and the waiters game. Water basketball and water hockey added two ball disciplines.

The bouncing ball game required another type of control. The boat battle then brought paddles and inflatable craft into the pool. Each discipline added points to the common ranking.

The varied programme prevented one result from deciding the whole evening. Teams had to complete all six tasks before the final order was known. The points kept every performance connected to the overall score.

Water basketball and hockey used familiar sporting ideas in a different setting. The inner tube and boat events placed more emphasis on balance and coordination. The waiters game added precision to the same programme.

Organisers kept the games short enough for spectators to follow the full sequence. No separate final removed teams from the event. Every participant remained active through the scheduled programme.

Hlorni bogovi won by seven points

Hlorni bogovi finished the six games with forty-five points. That total gave the winners a seven-point advantage over Top fighter. The margin separated first and second place clearly.

Top fighter collected thirty-eight points and secured the runner-up position. Vaterpolisti followed with thirty-seven. Only one point divided the second and third teams.

Skyrunners placed fourth in the published final order. JK Palic, Sombor, Spartan Su and Brodolom occupied the remaining positions. The organisers announced all eight teams after the final game.

The complete table recognised every group rather than only the medal positions. It also showed how close the contest remained behind the winner. Two teams were separated by a single point on the podium.

The closing presentation brought the participants together beside the pool. Team shirts and the final ranking marked the end of the first edition. Hlorni bogovi left as the first overall winners.

The organisers are considering a two-day programme

The Subotica Sports Association reported strong public attendance. It also received more team interest than the first format could accept. The announced limit of eight places filled quickly.

Organisers said the evening followed their original plan. Competition remained important, but the programme also gave the audience lighter moments. Cheering and laughter accompanied the six games.

The response created an early idea for the next edition. A two-day programme would provide room for more teams and games. The association has not yet announced a date or final format.

The first event supplied a clear base for that discussion. It delivered a full entry list, six completed games and a final ranking. The Dudova suma pool also handled the evening schedule successfully.

Subotica ended the night with eight teams in the final presentation. Hlorni bogovi led the standings ahead of Top fighter and Vaterpolisti. The first Water Challenge therefore closed with a complete sporting result.

The event ended with a complete ranking rather than a single final race. Every team therefore remained part of the programme until the closing ceremony. The pool hosted competition, public entertainment and a shared team presentation. That format matched the organisers' plan for an open local sports evening.
