Španović, Vilagoš and Stanković lead the opening day in Kraljevo

Adriana Vilagoš competed during the opening day in Kraljevo.

The Serbian Athletics Championships opened in Kraljevo with three leading performances. Ivana Španović won the women's triple jump after moving ahead in the final round. Adriana Vilagoš defended her javelin title, while Mina Stanković set a national record.

The first day also produced titles in sprinting, jumping and throwing events. Several established national-team athletes competed beside younger finalists. The programme ended with relay victories for Crvena zvezda.

Španović changes the triple jump order

Ivana Španović entered the final round in second place. Aleksandrija Mitrović had moved ahead with her last completed attempt. Španović responded with a jump of 14.08 metres. That mark returned her to first place and secured the national title.

Mitrović finished second with 13.73 metres. Natalija Dragojević took third place. Teodora Boberić and Stela Ćuk also passed thirteen metres. The event therefore contained depth beyond the contest for first place.

The lead changed near the end rather than during the opening attempts. Mitrović placed pressure on the most experienced athlete in the field. Španović answered while only one scoring chance remained. Her final jump became the strongest mark of the competition.

Španović has built most of her international career in the long jump. Her Kraljevo title came in the triple jump. That distinction is important when describing the result. The winning mark and the late change of order defined the event.

Vilagoš wins a close javelin contest

Adriana Vilagoš retained the Serbian title in the women's javelin. Her best throw measured 60.67 metres. She reached that distance twice during the competition. The repeated mark supported a narrow victory over Marija Vučenović.

Vučenović produced her best result of the season. Her throw reached 60.31 metres and earned second place. Only thirty-six centimetres separated the leading two athletes. Ivana Đurić completed the podium with a throw beyond fifty-four metres.

Sprint events formed part of the Serbian championships in Kraljevo.

The first two women both passed sixty metres. That gave the event a clear contest until the closing rounds. Vilagoš did not rely on one isolated successful attempt. Her two matching throws showed control across the series.

Vilagoš arrived as the defending national champion. Vučenović supplied the closest challenge of the day. Their marks remained close enough for every later throw to matter. The title stayed with Vilagoš after the final attempts were completed.

Stanković sets the evening record

Mina Stanković produced the leading record of the evening programme. She won the women's 5,000-metre race walk. Her time of 22 minutes and 6.22 seconds became a Serbian national record. Dunja Eremić and Dušica Topić completed the first three places.

Stanković left Kraljevo with both the title and a national record. Her time replaced the previous best Serbian performance. It was the leading achievement of the opening day.

Luka Bošković supplied another strong result in the men's long jump. He won with a jump of exactly eight metres. Bošković had already travelled farther earlier in the season. His Kraljevo mark was enough for a clear national title.

Armin Sinančević won the men's shot put. Jovan Stranić took the hammer title, and Slavko Stević won the high jump. Those events gave Serbia's leading throwers and jumpers championship victories. The day was not limited to the three headline women's results.

Sprint titles and relays complete the programme

Aleksa Kijanović extended his national run in the men's 100 metres. The victory was his eleventh consecutive Serbian title in the event. Uroš Dubaić finished second, while Darijo Bašić Palković took third. The winning sequence remained intact after the Kraljevo final.

Athletes competed across several disciplines on the opening day.

Milana Tirnanić won the women's 100 metres. Tamara Milutinović followed in second place, ahead of Ivana Ilić. The women's final contained three athletes separated by a small margin. Tirnanić reached the finish first and added another national title.

Bogdan Vidojković and Milica Emini won the hurdle finals. Filip Stanković and Aleksandra Pešić took the 400-metre titles. Aldin Ćatović and Milica Tomašević were best over 1,500 metres. The programme covered every main area of the stadium.

Crvena zvezda won both 4x100-metre relays at the end of the evening. The men's team included Miloš Nikolić, Uroš Dubaić, Bogdan Vidojković and Armin Mustajbegović. Marija Bukvić, Ivana Ilić, Andrea Prvanović and Minja Kopunović formed the winning women's team. Their relay victories closed a varied first day in Kraljevo.

More Serbian champions complete the programme

Crvena zvezda supplied both winning relay teams. Individual titles went to athletes from several Serbian clubs. The medal list included established internationals and younger domestic finalists. The opening programme therefore covered far more than the three leading women's events.

Milica Poznanović won the women's discus ahead of Martina Burčer. Nađa Savić took the women's pole vault title. Vladimir Mirkov won the men's race walk. Marko Vlahović finished second in the men's long jump, ahead of Dimitrije Novaković.

Nikola Mijailović and Teodora Simović won the long-distance track races. Bogdan Vidojković and Milica Emini took the hurdle titles. Zdravko Kanjevac and Filip Rakić followed Sinančević in the shot put. These results completed the range of events decided during the opening programme.

The opening day also brought close contests outside the leading events. Several sprint and field finals remained undecided until the last attempts. Athletes from Vojvodina, Crvena zvezda and other Serbian clubs shared the titles. That spread gave the national championship a broad competitive programme.
