Serbian men's volleyball team continues its Mediterranean Games camp in Ruma

Serbia's men's Mediterranean volleyball team is continuing its training camp in Ruma. Bojan Janic invited nineteen players for preparations before the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.
The first training period lasts until 7 August. The team will then travel to Maribor for three friendly matches against Slovenia.
Ruma provides the first complete training period
Janic gathered nineteen selected players in Ruma. The first camp continues until 7 August. The wider group includes every playing position. The final competition list has not yet been announced. Players arrived from Serbian and foreign clubs. Their recent seasons covered several domestic competitions. Setters, middle blockers, receivers, opposites and liberos appear on the list. Each role has more than one candidate. Ruma hosts both the opening and closing parts of preparation. Slovenia separates those two training periods. The team leaves Ruma for Maribor on 7 August. It returns after completing three friendly matches.
Serbia is scheduled to stay in Maribor from 7 to 13 August. Three friendly matches against Slovenia are included in that period. All three matches use the same opponent. Serbia therefore receives three separate results during the visit. Slovenia is the listed opponent in all three matches. The meetings take place before Serbia travels to Taranto. The matches are part of the published preparation schedule. They take place before the final camp in Ruma. No friendly result has been recorded yet. The confirmed programme currently covers the dates and opponent. Serbia leaves Maribor on 13 August. The Mediterranean Games begin eight days later in Italy.
The group includes players with different club experience
The wider list brings together players from Serbian and foreign clubs. Their recent seasons covered different leagues and competitive levels. The selected players have represented different clubs during the past season. The preparation list joins them in one national group. Janic leads the team as head coach. Srecko Lisinac and Marko Narandzic work as assistant coaches in the staff.

The group also includes specialists for statistics, physical preparation and medical support. Those roles continue throughout the camp. Marko Krtinic works as the team statistician. Aleksandar Sestakov leads physical preparation, while Ivan Popovic is the physiotherapist. These staff members remain with the group during the camp. Their names appear on the published preparation list.
Egypt and Algeria await Serbia in Taranto
The Mediterranean Games run from 21 August to 3 September in Taranto. Serbia's men were drawn in Group D. Egypt and Algeria are the other teams in that group. Serbia therefore has two confirmed group opponents. The volleyball competition will use venues in Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce. The schedule assigns group matches to those halls.
Serbia completes training and friendly matches before the Games. The final list will come from the wider group. The team returns to Ruma after Slovenia. Its final training period ends before the trip to southern Italy. The published route is Ruma, Maribor and Ruma again. The team then travels to the competition in Italy.
The preparation calendar contains three clear stages

The federation announced both volleyball squads
The men's and women's Mediterranean squads were presented in the same announcement. Their preparation programmes remain separate. Marijana Boricic leads the women's team. Fourteen players were invited to that preparation group. The women's camp begins at Divcibare before moving to Ruma. The men's group starts and finishes its work in Ruma. Serbia's women were drawn with Italy, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Syria. The men face Egypt and Algeria.
Both teams travel to the same Mediterranean Games in Taranto. Their group schedules and squad sizes are different. The men's staff includes a statistician, conditioning coach and physiotherapist. Marko Krtinic, Aleksandar Sestakov and Ivan Popovic fill those roles. Tomislav Kukanjac works as team manager for both Serbian squads. The assistant coaches differ between the two teams. The announcement therefore covers a complete Serbian volleyball delegation. The men's current work remains the camp in Ruma.
