Serbian defender Aleksandar Sedlar became an IMT player on 18 August. The 34-year-old arrived after a season with Iranian club Tractor. He made 30 appearances there before returning to Serbian football.
IMT added an experienced defender after a strong start to the domestic season. The New Belgrade club collected ten points from its first five league matches. That total placed IMT second, level on points with leaders Cukaricki.
Sedlar returns with experience from three countries
Sedlar played for Metalac before moving to Poland and Spain. He represented Piast Gliwice in Poland, then joined Mallorca and Alaves. Those clubs gave him experience in several defensive systems and different competitions. His most recent season took place in Iran with Tractor. Sedlar appeared 30 times for the club. That record shows regular match involvement before his move to New Belgrade. The defender also played twice for Serbia during 2016. Slavoljub Muslin was the national coach during those appearances. The matches remain part of Sedlar's senior record, although his present work concerns IMT.
He returns to a league he already understands from his years with Metalac. Stadiums, travel and local opponents will therefore be familiar. His new teammates and the club's current approach still require fresh preparation. Sedlar has mainly worked as a central defender during his senior career. His experience gives IMT another option for the middle of the back line. The coaching staff will decide his exact role through training and selection.

IMT began the season with ten points
IMT opened the campaign with ten points from five matches. Only the league order separated the club from Cukaricki, because both teams held the same total. The start gave the squad a useful base before Sedlar arrived. A new signing enters a team that already has working combinations. Sedlar therefore joins an established group instead of a side searching for its first result. Training shows how quickly he learns the existing defensive communication. His arrival also increases competition for starting places. Central defenders work closely with the goalkeeper and full-backs. Timing matters during high balls, set pieces and movements behind the defensive line.
IMT's early points came before Sedlar became available. Those completed matches remain unchanged by the new signing. His contribution begins with the next selection and the minutes that follow. League position may change quickly during the first weeks. The confirmed figure is ten points after five rounds. Later tables will depend on results across the entire competition, not one transfer.
The first possible match comes in Kragujevac
Sedlar may make his IMT debut on 23 August. The scheduled match is away against Radnicki 1923 in Kragujevac. His place in the squad depends on registration, fitness and the coach's final selection. An away debut would bring an immediate competitive test. Immediate selection requires clear communication with teammates who have already played five league rounds together. Set pieces and defensive restarts offer obvious moments for that coordination. The match also follows a normal training week for IMT.
That period gives Sedlar time to learn names, signals and positioning. It does not guarantee a starting place or a certain number of minutes.
If he begins among the substitutes, later appearances remain possible. The important record will be the official team sheet and completed match minutes. Predictions cannot replace confirmed information from the club. IMT confirmed the player, while the league schedule identifies the next opponent. Those facts define the current story. The match itself provides the first evidence of Sedlar's role.
His role adds depth rather than changing past results
Sedlar's arrival does not alter IMT's first five results. It gives the club another experienced choice for future matches. That distinction keeps the transfer separate from claims about performances he did not influence. The defender brings senior minutes from Serbia, Poland, Spain and Iran. Each league presented different forwards and match rhythms. IMT receives that experience without an automatic promise of results. Selection depends on his physical condition and training work. A player with 30 recent appearances may still require time after travel and a transfer. The staff assesses those details directly during daily sessions.
Sedlar's clearest contribution appears through official matches. Starts, substitute appearances and defensive actions show his place. General descriptions matter less than those visible records. IMT have confirmed an experienced Serbian defender during a good league start. Sedlar has returned to domestic football at age 34. His first possible assignment comes against Radnicki 1923.
